Furniture Huschle - Her Parents Were There (1994) [Shrimper, SHR51, Cassette]

What Does This Tape Sound Like?

From the J-card:

Thanks and love to Kim, Mark, John, Dennis, and Radio Shack (a division of Tandy Corporation). I recorded this tape in April and May of 1994.

Furniture Huschle! The solo vehicle of Joel Huschle, of Wckr Spgt and many odd Wckr Spgt side projects. Oddly, this is Furniture Huschle's only full release on Shrimper, though there's also an FH track ("Pro-Billy") on SHR 710, the Fantasy Band compilation 7". Most early FH releases were on Joel's own label, Car In Car Disco Product (dedicated section coming... someday...), and more recent FH material has appeared on labels like Unread and Almost Halloween Time. There's a CD (Waiting For Parts) that I hope to get a page up for sometime.

This tape contains several FH classics, including "Be A Cop", which you could mistake for being in the imperative, but lyrically is more of a future continuous situation.

Also of interest: "Darby Crash Is Alive" makes mention of "the guy who used to drum for the Germs", and Wckr Spgt would (some time later) record a tongue-in-cheek punk record that swaps out longtime Spgt/ØPB drummer Kyle Brodie for former Germs drummer Don Bolles.
