Buzzsaw - Killer Cassette vs. The Dude (1996) [Shrimper, SHR100, Cassette]

Where to start with Buzzsaw? You've heard him on some early Shrimper compilations, you've experienced The Wine Lover, now what is this? Well, as the sleeve will tell you, after giving a few thanks and credits: Enough info, sweetie?

Long story short: this tape's two characters are The Killer Cassette, and The Dude. The Dude, bored with all the music at the store, unwittingly picks up The Killer Cassette, and begins to listen to its contents...

I've done my best to break the tape up into segments, but not quite to the level of the section on The Wine Lover. (Yet.) There are no track or scene names provided on the tape, so I've provided here the labels that I used when splitting the tape myself, so that when it runs on the old MP3 player I can see what part I'm on.

Musical numbers are excerpted at varying length, spoken parts are presented for narrative flow. Enjoy!

A1. The Killer Cassette Awakens. A lengthy spoken section from the point of view of the tape itself, about how it hates to be played, and kills anyone who plays it.
"I had everything in that crappy store, man..."

A2. The Dude. We meet the Dude, who complains in song that there are no new tapes to buy. He's heard it all!

A3. The Killer Cassette Revives. Beware! Beware! Beeeeware!
"What was that, man...? A trip, dude!"
A4. I'm So Stoked, Dude/This Band Must Really Smoke. The Dude, having heard the Killer Cassette, sings about his new tape, excited to take it home. Two movements: "I'm So Stoked, Dude"/"This Band Must Really Smoke"
"I gotta find out what's on this tape, man..."
A5. Butterflies. The A-side of the Killer Cassette is... Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331, 3rd Movement (Turkish Rondo/Rondo alla Turca) rolling along while a man sings gleefully about butterflies.
A6. Outro. The Dude comments: "That sucked, dude..." but flips the Killer Cassette over, hoping for something else.
B1. Bunker. We hear Mars, from Holst's Planets Suite, and gunfire, and singing about the battlefield.
B2. Vas Ist Das. This is where the Killer Cassette will sound the most like those Shrimper compilation appearances you've heard. On and on, in frantic German, distortion...
"Doug..."
B3. Be Cool, Man. The Dude demands the tape get fast and stay fast. The tape obliges...
B4. I Have Killed All Who Dare. The Killer Cassette returns to its slumber...
