What Does This EP Sound Like?

Good god, this EP is good. The title track is just killer, the guitars subtly ramping up, the switch from Allen to Dennis on vocals. "Everything Old" bounces some guitar back and forth in the channels until Allen comes in, pure late-90's Refrigerator full-bloom Allen. "Home Run Kings" is one of the best Dennis solo-vocal songs. "Adelanto, CA" is a waltz with Allen and Dennis both on vocals, but distinct. On a lot of songs where they both sing, you can hear some lingering on the consonants as they both decide where to end the phrase. On "Anti-Nomination", there are moments where you can't tell them apart at all. The great thing about Allen and Dennis singing together is, sometimes they're two different guitars playing the same note, and sometimes they're one guitar playing the same note on two strings at once. I think so, anyway. When they really get into that two-strings feeling.... man. Hey, hit the links above this paragraph and pick this one up. It's five songs and a bonus!
The bonus song on this CD, which should pop in on track 5 at 3 minutes, 7 seconds: it's Big Breakfast! This song, "Continuation High School Love Affair", appears on Big Breakfast's only full album, Why Do You Touch Things That Aren't Yours?. And who's that on the Casio on this track? It's Peter Hughes! Diskothi-Q bandmate Kevin Trapp co-fronted Big Breakfast with Lisa Kuta. More on all that at the link.
