What Does This Tape Sound Like?
|
Transcribed from the J-card (some of the most fun I've had replicating the formatting yet):
This is a collection of outtakes, demos, covers, and live versions from an album that hasn't been recorded yet. Some things worked out well, some didn't quite as much, but hey it was a crap shoot and there's probably a reason for everything.
Folks playing the game on this tape include:
Eric Arn - guitars, vocals brian craft - guitars, vocals Martin Crowley - drums Bruce Hamilton - drums Mike Hasselmo - bass Nick Saloman - bass, vocals Dave Stankoski - bass Skip Turner - drums Nathan Wilson - bass, vocals (the mixing and matching is left as an exercise)
Recorded between October 1989 and March 1993 at Machine Elf (North
Hollywood), Toe's Tavern (Pasadena), Munchie's (Pomona), KSPC and
Rhino Records (Claremont) and even some hole in London (England) by
Jim Brenner, Tod Murray, "some prat named Les" and most of all by
Big Bob Durkee who also drove the van around alot for us. Thanks Bob.
Mastered by Nathan and Eric at KSPC and Nate's house. Songs by Eric
except Ripped Jack which almost started out as something by Link Wray
the other way around. The Ceiling is Bending by The Flaming Lips, and
"not an atom" by everybody. Insert art by the inimivable Mr. Mick
Dillingham (Bizaartvark). Seizure.
Bob Durkee and Nathan Wilson weren't personnel for Primordial Undermind long-term, but it's nice to see they both worked on this one. Nathan also played on the Primordial Undermind 7" released on Baby Huey.
