'Drops of Love', recorded in 1987, marked the beginning
of what was to become the 'new sound' of Wckr Spgt.
Stylistically opposed to the 1985 release 'Spgtmuzik',
here we see further experimentation with constructionism,
poetic discord and the Spgtsense of absurdity.
'Drops of Love' firmly established Wckr Spgt in the
'Cauldron of the Underground' and set the stage for
what was to become their most successful release,
1989's 'Dance Til You Stop'.

Shrimper, in association with Wckr Spgt, proudly
presents this reissue of the ground-breaking
'Drops of Love', sweetened and condensed
to highlight the most historically significant selections.

Commentary on "sweetened and condensed": the Spgt site lists 28 tracks as belonging to this release. Present in that list and omitted in the tracklist here:

Angel of the Morning, a cover. Sort of. Its absence from the tracklist causes me permanent psychic pain.
Willy and Power Drops, which originally appeared (same recordings) on the Power Drops EP.
Candy Anne! Anne works at the Candy Bar. You can buy a 2016 re-recording of Candy Anne on Bandcamp.
Both I Bought My Bus Ticket and It's not up to me to kill the lamb... it's not my problem are quick non-song tracks.

"The Choice Is Mine (Alone)" is provided as the title for Your Face (A Silhouette), a Wckr Spgt recording which is distinct from the spectacular Electric B'Jesus & the Livin' Bass Band version.

My copy of the tape is currently under repair for some sound issues, and had to be put on the backburner for now. I look forward to taking a listen and seeing if there are any other surprises like on Dance 'Til You Stop.
