For those curious about Pop Filter:

Photo from Pop Filter's Spotify page.

Recommended Listening Part 1: The Ocean Party & More A collection of Bandcamp links to material by The Ocean Party & several related projects: Ciggie Witch, No Local, Velcro, Hobby Farm, and more.
Recommended Listening Part 2: Pop Filter & Snowy A collection of Bandcamp links focused on Pop Filter and Snowy/Snowy Band, with a few extras.
Pop Filter's Bandcamp Page You can get ahold of Banksia, Donkey Gully Road, CONO, and Ray & Lorraine's here.

I think they're all great records. Banksia is wonderful end-to-end, for example. Then Donkey Gully Road has the one-two punch of "In A Dream"/"Paradise" which puts it very high up. But. Ray & Lorraine's is a record that not only has "Falling In Love", "Strawberry", and "Dealer's Choice" on it, but all in a row. But CONO has "Silver Lining" so jury's out. Ooh, and "Pop Filter; Live!". So maybe CONO wins. Hmm. No, well, hang on, Ray & Lorraine's also has "For Me" on it...
The Ocean Party's Bandcamp Page You can get most of their records here, but curiously not Soft Focus which is only present as a single. To get that full record (one of their best, imo) go to this link.

A quick selection of recommendations not already given in the above rec post: "Head Down" or "Concrete" to jam, "Rivers" to groove, and "Better Leave Soon" to go nuts.
Relief Pop's Bandcamp Page Two (so far) EPs by a slightly abbreviated Pop Filter lineup.

Quick recommendations: "Self-Portrait"from Chip Plinth and "Intifada" from Snake Whistle.

For those curious about Peter Peter Hughes:

Fangio Peter's solo record Fangio from 2010.
Three Weeks In Sicily One of Peter's digital one-offs, and I think his strongest songwriting (I've been meaning to write something explaining why, but that's for later.)
Suicide Cult Another digital one-off about life in the U.S. of A., re-recorded for Half-Staff Blues.
Hit The North 3 (Solo Acoustic 1995) An acoustic solo version of "Hit The North 3" which was a DiskothiQ single originally. Peter Hughes sent this solo acoustic recording to Theme Park Records for their 1995 compilation Our Salvation Is In Hand.
Lane Discipline An acoustic song from a 1996 7" put out by X-Mas Records. Your humble web admin suggests that this is a very good DiskothiQ song, and he is only slightly biased because it's also his favorite.

Liam "Snowy" Halliwell on Bandcamp

Snowy's Bandcamp Page This page is a catch-all for Snowy solo, Snowy Band, and other configurations for Snowy-penned work. The solo Snowy record I'm most nuts about is Philharmonic, but I'd also direct you to -quintet in a heartbeat.
Ciggie Witch's Bandcamp Page Ciggie Witch was a project with Zac Denton and others. "Long Weekend" is an all-time favorite single of mine among all the collected work I've gone through from this crew.
No Local's Bandcamp Page No Local was a side project of Zac Denton & Snowy's. You can get Nolo Contendere and The End Again here. The End Again had additional arrangement help from Jordan Thompson, and its cover references the photo on their artist profile. "Slow Release (Magnum Ego Mix)" is the one I've played the most from this bunch.
Pregnancy's Bandcamp Page This was a project with Zac Denton and a few other local musicians. This is the link where you can get the single Hard As Nails and EP First Kiss. There are also two Bandcamp uploads of their full album Urgency, but I'll use that link there in case you're reading at work, the other one's cover is much more... fun.
Pencil's Bandcamp Another early side project with Snowy.

Lachlan Denton on Bandcamp

Lachlan Denton's Bandcamp Page For Lachlan Denton's solo work, including Furnishings and A Brother. I would recommend listening to A Brother because it's beautiful, and very difficult.
Lachlan & Snowy's Bandcamp Page The page for the two Lachlan & Snowy EPs, Six Songs And Six More Songs and Phone In.
Partner Look's Bandcamp Page Partner Look is the project Lachlan does with Dainis Lacey of Cool Sounds, helmed by sisters Ambrin & Anila Hasnain.

Off-the-cuff recommendation: "Rodeo Tragic" from By The Book.
Emma Russack & Lachlan Denton This page collects the collaborative songwriting work Lachlan has put out with Emma Russack.

Curtis Wakeling on Bandcamp

Velcro's Bandcamp Page Velcro is Curtis Wakeling's long-running project with a variety of creative collaborators, including other members of Pop Filter.

Off-the-cuff recommendation: Watching Storms With You" from Heavens Weathers.
Deuce's Bandcamp Page Deuce is Curtis Wakeling's side project with Kayleigh Heydon and a handful of other musicians.

Jordan Thompson on Bandcamp

Timeshare's Bandcamp Page Timeshare is Jordan Thompson's solo project, with occasional appearances by other Pop Filter members and frequent backing vox credits to Maddison Newman.

Off-the-cuff recommendation: "Lonliest Number" from Blue.
Jordan Thompson's Bandcamp Page Older Jordan Thompson solo work is collected here, previously under the name "Van Morrissey."
Ian Bandcamp Page Ian was an early project featuring Jordan, Snowy, and Pop Filter's Mark Rogers. Check out the photo of the three of them on the profile page. Aww.

Off-the-cuff recommendation: "Pearl" from Riot At The Galleria. (This was made by passionate young men and it would have gone triple platinum in my discman from roughly age 14 to 20.)

Honorable mention to Nick Kearton of Cool Sounds, who plays in Pop Filter but not on Half-Staff Blues; and to Pop Filter's Mark Rogers who was not available for recording on Half-Staff Blues, but who is responsible for one of my favorite Ocean Party songs (okay, several of them... and also several of my favorite Pop Filter songs) and who seems lovely. When do we get the Peter, Mark, & Nick follow-up EP?

AS A REMINDER, Bandcamp Fridays 2025 are September 5th 2025, October 3rd 2025, and December 5th 2025, I would encourage picking things up from the above links on September 5th 2025, October 3rd 2025, and/or December 5th 2025 to maximize revenue to these hardworking artists. Thank you!
